For the past 20 years Charlie and Caroline Gladstone, who married fresh out of university, have lived amid the rolling, unkempt countryside around their stylish Scottish home - a 200-year-old former shooting lodge – along with their six children, six dogs, lots of horses and three very ancient chickens.
Their award-winning homewares store, Pedlars, specialises in good, old-fashioned, solidly designed (vintage and new) “heritage” accessories and furniture, and was set up by Charlie and Caroline four years ago, building on an already successful mail order business, which had been going for 12 years.
