Dan & Nuria Wicksman

Husband and wife team Dan & Nuria Wicksman began writing together at film school in Leeds, and have since written for film and TV companies in fifteen countries.  They are currently working on feature film commissions and original ideas as well as ongoing children’s series work.

THE DREAMSTERS - Commissioned to write all 26 episodes of a TV series for KCET Los Angeles (exec-produced by Mike Medavoy and Arnie Messer of Phoenix Pictures)


THE TRIBE - 5 episodes of international teen drama series. Broadcast in 50 territories worldwide, and sold into Syndication in the US.


EXTRA! - Five episodes of BAFTA-nominated educational sitcom for Channel 4 / RAI.  

DOCTORS - Episode ‘Swing Out Sister’ starring Thelma Barlow


MORRIS 2274 - 1 episode of kids time-travel show, Two Hats TV / Five.


THE SECRET OF EEL ISLAND - Storylined two episodes of kids’ adventure series, Eye Film / Five.


Also commissioned to write sketches for LAUGH OUT LOUD by SMG for Nickelodeon, and for BBC Interactive for the Digital Curriculum.

SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH - Writing on new animated series based on the classic teen comedy. Producer: Moonscoop/Telegael for The Hub/Disney Europe.


THOMAS & FRIENDS - Commissioned by HIT Entertainment to write two episodes of their flagship show.


DIVE OLLY DIVE! - Three episodes of second series for Mike Young Productions (Los Angeles) and Kinder Kanal (Germany) (2009).  Also wrote eight episodes for series one.


TIMMY TIME - Development work and two scripts for BAFTA-winning Aardman series.


WELLINGTON - Commissioned by Hallmark Cards/Steve Walsh Productions to write series development proposal based on one of their characters.


LITTLE PRINCESS - Five episodes of series for Illuminated Films/TV Loonland.  Broadcast on Five and territories worldwide. Voiced by Jane Horrocks and Julian Clary


ROARY THE RACING CAR - Four episodes of global hit from Chapman Entertainment.  Voiced by Peter Kay and Stirling Moss.


THOSE SCURVY RASCALS - Two episodes of comedy CGI series for Blue Zoo/Nickelodeon.  Series won two categories at the British Animation Awards and BAFTA-nominated 2006


THE KOALA BROTHERS - Four episodes of series broadcasting 80 territories worldwide, including BBC in UK, and Disney channels US.  BAFTA-nominated 2006.

NORMAN NORMAL - Two episodes comedy series for Magma (Ireland) & Tele Images (France); broadcast in France, Germany, Spain, Italy.

HANA’S HELPLINE - One episode of series for Calon / Five (UK).      

FIENDISH FRED! - Storylined comedy series for JEP Animation (Germany).

INVISIBLE INK - Comedy-adventure series, co-production between Pesky (UK), Samka (France), Telescreen (Netherlands).  Commissioned for development work, pilot episode and further storylines.

THUMBELINA - Rewrite of animated TV special for Qollective (Slovenia).

THE MAGIC CRYSTAL - Animated feature rewrite for Epidem Zot (Finland) and Cartoon One (Italy). Theatrical release at Christmas 2011.


SCOOTERMAN - Commissioned by Film Afrika (South Africa) to write a treatment for a Rom-Com.


VURDULAK - Full rewrite of action film to Lolafilms in Spain, well received by Producer Andres Vicente Gomez


HUBERT - Commissioned to develop animated feature for Kool Produktion based on their successful Scandinavian kids series Hubert (2009)


SKELETONS FOR SADNESS - Adaptation of Ewen Southby – Tailyour’s book for Apis Films


TOMB - Original horror feature for Zeitgeist Films, Denmark.  Director Shaky Gonzalez attached
