Patrick Wilde

Patrick Wilde was born in London.  He was educated at the Salesian College Battersea by priand then took a degree in English Literature before training as an actor.  Acting credits include several major classical roles, including Mark Antony (A.T.C.), Orlando (York Rep) and Amnon in The Rape of Tamar (Lyric Hammersmith).  Directing credits include over 20 productions of Shakespeare, four Edinburgh Festivals, a tour of Paki­stan, What’s Wrong With Angry? in the West End, Schiller’s Cabal and Love (Lyric Hammersmith), Jo Orton’s Loot and The Changeling (BAC).

THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU'RE 30 - Adapted Dutch film All Stars for Samuelson Productions. Simon Simon Shore directing, Dougray Scott, Shaun Parkes, Emilia Fox and Billie Piper starring. Released by Momentum Pictures June 2006.


GET REAL - Adaptation of his own play WHAT’S WRONG WITH ANGRY, produced by Graphite Films and directed by Simon Shore.  Won the Audience Award at Edinburgh Film Festival. Opened in the US and UK in 1999.  Screened at many festivals including Toronto, Sundance and Dinard where it won the Jury and Audience prizes, winner at the Madrid Film Festival and closing film at the LLGFF.  It also won the Audience Award at the Sydney 2000 Mardi Gras Film festival.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH ANGRY? - (Writer/Director)  Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2008. First full length play which dealt with gay age of consent and Clause 38 issues. Initially directed by Patrick, it was shown at various venues in London and has also been staged at the Celebration Theatre in Los Angeles and was nominated as best play in 2000 by GLAAD. Produced in San Francisco and Chicago in two separate productions in 2005.  Also played in Switzerland, Germany and Los Angeles
