Mark Williams

Mark Williams is a screenwriter, playwright and novelist. He has written two UK-touring stage adaptations for The Birmingham Stage Company – HORRIBLE HISTORIES: THE FRIGHTFUL FIRST WORLD WAR (nominated for a Manchester Evening News award, Best Family Show) and HORRIBLE SCIENCE. Theatre work includes plays for the Hereford Courtyard, the Sherman Theatre, Cwmni Theatr 3D, The Desperate Men Theatre Company and Dirty Protest. He’s written for BBC Wales radio and TV, and was a sitcom finalist in the inaugural BBC Talent scheme. In 2011, he was selected for a High Level Mentored Course for TV Scriptwriters run by Cyfle in Wales, for which he wrote THE FIRE RUNNERS, a children’s fantasy drama series. He’s particularly keen to develop as a writer for television. Mark is currently under commission to Welsh National Opera. His debut fantasy novel SLEEPLESS KNIGHTS, the story of King Arthur’s butler, will be published by Atomic Fez in the spring of 2013.
