Stef Penney

Stef Penney was born and grew up in Edinburgh. After earning a degree in philosophy and theology from Bristol University, she turned to filmmaking, studying film and TV at Bournemouth College of Art. On graduation she was selected for the Carlton Television New Writers Scheme. THE TENDERNESS OF WOLVES was Stef's first novel and won the Costa Book of the Year 2006. Stef then dramatized MODESTY BLAISE: A TASTE OF DEATH into a five-parter for Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour and has since been commissioned to write DOUBLE INDEMNITY, a Classic Serial  for Radio 4. Stef's third novel, UNDER A POLE STAR, was published in 2016.
