SOLDIERS’ WIVES by Fiona Field is published by Head of Zeus this month.  A page turning soap opera about three women trying to get to grips with military life, Katie Fforde described it as “a compelling look at women's lives in the army. I couldn't put it down”, and Elizabeth Buchan said “an intimate, unflinching look at the reality of life for the soldier’s wife and an excellent story”. Ebook sales are already very healthy and Amazon readers agree that it is a five star read.

It should come with a new pair of socks because you'll laugh off your current ones. Greg James on Weirdos vs. Quimboids

Funnier, weirder, ruder - Blossom is back. After performing the brilliant and unlikely feat of getting sexy rock god Josh Raven to perform at the school disco, Blossom Uxley-Michaels has decided that being a Weirdo is actually kind of awesome. Things get more exciting when Blossom's band, Camel Toe, enter the Battle of the Bands.

But Camel Toe find they have competition from an unlikely source. Then Blossom meets Vince, sexy mancake and lead singer of rival band Bumskulls. And supposedly loved-up Petrina has been spotted dribbling at the bass player... Amidst a churning whirlpool of love, war and music, can the Weirdos keep their quest for musical domination on track or will it all go norks up?

Weirdos vs. Bumbskulls is published today by Catnip.

The next phase of Stef Penney's MODESTY BLAISE world domination begins next week when it returns to Radio 4 as the 15 Minute Drama.

This time it's an adaptation of the first novel in the series (thus one of the villains from A Taste for Death miraculously returns from the grave!)

It features Modesty, Willie and Sir Gerald Tarrant battling the nefarious Gabriel (a fantastically bonkers Ewan Bailey) from Cannes to Cairo for a stonking amount of diamonds...

It will be aired between Monday 16th June and Friday 20th June at 10.45am, and is repeated at 7.45pm each day.
